One name you may not have heard much about yet is Michael Maisonet. Michael started wrestling back in New Jersey when he was only 7 years old. Once he moved to Miami and started with Mater Academy he started to shine. Michael also trains with YIC [Youth Impact Center] under Head Coach Jonathan Taylor who himself was a 4X State Champion for Cardinal Gibbons HS. Getting the training at Mater Academy from Coach Eric Lamazeres and the YIC with Coach Taylor will definitely get Michael to the next level. He is wrestling 113/120 and has made huge improvements. A few months ago over the summer he placed 2nd at the South Florida Showdown! He was voted Most Improved Wrestler at the awards banquet for his school Mater Academy and his coaches are looking for him to punch his ticket this season to the FHSAA State Championships.
